I’m not trying to pick on anyone

But all those folks who’ve been running to complain about Microsoft’s “new” policy regarding Windows Product Activation, please go read Ed Bott’s post about this and understand the news story might not have it exactly right, ok?

Now, if you have personally tried to reinstall a valid OEM version of XP onto the exact machine it came with and been forced to pick up a phone to activate Windows, I’ll be more than happy to admit my error, but until then can’t we all just wait a minute and actually see something for ourselves before we start with the bashing??!?!

BTW, that’s the same reason I haven’t said anything about Google’s Autolink, because I rarely use IE, I haven’t updated the Google Toolbar and haven’t actually seen what it does or doesn’t do myself.
