Coming Tweetdeck App Update

I’ve been saying for quite some time now that I couldn’t understand why some features of the desktop version of Tweetdeck weren’t being added to the iPhone app. (Mostly global filters.) Apparently, there was a reason for that. Tweetdeck was completely rewriting the iOS application.

As much as I’m looking forward to seeing this new version, and playing with some of the new features, I was still hugely disappointed to see in the comments that global filtering is probably not going to be included in the initial re-release. Tweetdeck on the desktop is so, so much better for me because of that one feature. (I never have to look at another foursquare check-in, or see what song you’re listening to!) Not having it on the iPhone makes it so much less useful for me. Especially when you consider the smaller screen size. That exacerbates the noise factor of things I would normally filter out, when I have that option.

Come on Tweetdeck, get with the program!
