The article itself is fairly common information on why social media is the way to reach people for marketing, recruiting, etc. but this stat shocked me:
• Only 13% of Millenials (13-34 yo) use LinkedIn. I’d like you to explore other platforms and opportunities to engage and communicate with your younger and now majority workforce. Snapchat, Instagram and then Twitter are this employee population’s favorite social networks. How is your organization using these?
Now, does that represent 13% that even have a profile, or 13% that are active users? I don’t know. If it’s the former, yes businesses should recognize that they may not be recruiting from a large pool, but if you’re a young professional looking for opportunities, what are you thinking? Seriously, I’d like to know.
