SpywareInfo

Have I mentioned lately what a great resource SpywareInfo is? And how great their newsletter is? Heck just in this week’s newsletter you will find full articles about Direcway using remote access to their customers machines to run ads, a full review of Mailwasher Pro, including a discount, a plea to turn off bouncing of virus emails, since they use spoofed from addresses, the Google toolbar automatic updates and word that they may be coming out with an option that you can turn off. (Let’s hope so, since I found out about the automatic updates after I had already suggested everyone at work install it, and I really don’t like having automatic updates done on my network!)

All of that in one issue of a free newsletter!

Lack of Inspiration; Need New Sources

This being the end of the year, I’ve been doing a long overdue cleanup of some of my various information sources, the first being Google Reader. After taking a look at the over 300 subscriptions I had there, and removing all of the ones who haven’t posted in 2011, and a number of ones I…

Actual email I sent my boss today: FYI, His phone is operating correctly now. The other one we set up for them worked the way it was supposed to so it was just a matter of going through the 48 different options in 3 different tables in the telephone programming database and figuring out which…

Yes, I’m sure you’ve all seen 100 times this morning that version 1.04 is out, and it fixes the security hole I talked about earlier this week. But have you seen Marc Orchant’s post about it this morning where he also mentions MozBackup? From their site: “MozBackup is a utility for creating backups of Mozilla,…

    Google Wave: So Far, Meh

Image by mikemac29 via Flickr So I managed to get an invite to Google Wave over the weekend (Thanks Kreg!), and started poking around with it last night. Not enough time to have any well-thought out opinions, but enough to have an instant reaction: I’m optimistically underwhelmed at this point. Do I think there’s some…

    Kurt Leafstrand Gets It

On the e-discovery 2.0 blog yesterday at least, he gets what I’ve been saying about social media in regards to legal risks, there’s not much that’s new here: There’s talk of intellectual property being cast out, irrevocably, onto the Internet for all to see. Or slanderous things being uttered for which your company may be…

  • Perl funkiness

I’m still having Perl problems on the other site. MT-Blacklist simply won’t work at all. Each attempt leaves me with an error about the Storable binary image library being a newer version than the executable, or perhaps it’s the other way ’round. Either way, it simply won’t work. I tried to replace it with MT-Keystrokes,…
