Somebody owes me

Angela and I were all set to go to the Crew game tonight. The place where she used to work had some extra tickets, we were going to go hang in the VIP patio and just enjoy the game together. Unfortunately, shortly before we were due to leave, we found out that they wound up being one ticket short on the tickets they had promised to people. Oops. Seeing as how I’d been to a few games, and well, the Crew really have been struggling this year, I figured as the husband of someone who used to work there, I was the least deserving of a ticket compared to people who still worked there and their families, so I volunteered to stay home.

That was all fine until Angela came home and told me that the VIP tickets came complete with free beer, and free fresh-baked cookies. Somebody owes me! 🙂

We survived my office holiday party last night. As they say back in my old neighborhood, there was no gun play so it was a good party! (No that’s not a trivial matter, there is quite a bit of animosity between various people in my office. *L*) Seriously though, the food was alright, (although Angela…

I was working out of our new remote office today. Our CIO, along with some others, came up with the idea to try and make sure we have IT face-time with the folks in this office at least once a week for the first few months since it’s opening and this week it was my…

  • Back in the saddle

Back at work this morning. Chicago was great, it was a wonderful anniversary weekend for us. Thanks to all who wished us a happy anniversary, we enjoyed exploring Chicago together and we enjoyed getting to spend some time with an old High-School friend of Angela’s while we were in town as well. (Hi Amy!) Pictures…

  • Bummer

OK I found a sort of bummer thing about my idea to play around with Knoppix. While I can access all the files on my C drive even when I’m booted into Knoppix instead of Windows, I can’t edit any of my MS Office files in OpenOffice. They open as read-only, and when I try…
