Linked – Your Car Could Be the Next Ransomware Target

I love technology, but the day I walk out to my car and it demands bitcoin ransom before it will even start, might be the day that living off the grid starts to sound like a plan.

Not a plan for me necessarily, but a plan.

Seriously though, this is why the whole IoT security threat is a huge risk, because the more we connect things to the internet the more risk there is for someone else to control it. That might be mildly annoying when it’s a light, or the TV. It gets downright nasty when it’s a car, the locks on your house, or a medical device.

There will be an absolute freak out if someone dies because of a hack. I predict chaos.
