Linked – Anxiety When Speaking? That’s Actually Good
I am a firm believer in this.
“The question I’m asked most often in workshops and coaching sessions is, “I get really nervous when I present; can you help me eliminate my anxiety?” And my answer is that having at least some anxiety is actually a good sign. It means that, at that moment, you’re engaged. You are plugged into your audience and your message. It means you care.”
I have always thought that the day you don’t have a little anxiety about teaching a training class, or doing a presentation, or any other kind of public speaking is probably the day that you don’t care anymore about what the audience takes away. And if you don’t care about what the audience takes away, you have no business speaking to them.
Do you still feel a little anxious?
