My initial reaction to the headline was “Great, what chance do the rest of us have of not getting hacked if SANS can get hacked?”
But, like Sharon, I think this is really great:
“This is the part I really like. To make this an educational opportunity, SANS says that it will host a webcast that includes information about the incident that will be useful to the entire security community.”
The details of the breach seem to indicate it was minor, which I also assume means there are measures in place at SANS to mitigate the damage that a single email account breach can do. So, between talking about how it happened, and why it seemed to be so limited, there is a lot of material there that SANS can use as a training scenario.
That should be interesting. Can’t wait to hear more about it!
