Linked – How to Find (or Start) a Job Search Club
This is not the worst idea I’ve heard, and given the number of companies I’m aware of that have already gone through a series of layoffs, I thought sharing it might benefit a few readers. As the quote from the post below says, we need to know we are not alone.
“People who are job searching feel alone and isolated, and that can mess with their psyche,” Morgan said. “That cuts away at their confidence level. And when you are in a group with other people who are facing similar challenges to you, you realize you are not the only one going through this, that this is something that’s pretty hard. So it becomes support, motivation, and accountability.”
Have you considered starting a club if you’ve been laid off recently? If you haven’t, maybe give it a try. I’m not in the same boat but if I can help you get started and try to connect you to others, let me know how.
