Terrific training discussion

Kathy Sierra has an interesting post on the Creating Passionate Users blog, about how to get our users past the “P” Mode, a reference to digital cameras. There’s a terrific, if somewhat lengthy, conversation taking place in the comments as well.

I’m sure I’ll have something more to say about the idea, but I want to fully digest the conversation and spend some time thinking about what I’ve done in the past that has worked, or not worked, in helping user’s understand not so much how to use a tool, but what they can do with the tool. I do agree that is the goal of all this technology that we have, to DO something!
