Pownce

Yes, it’s true. I did sign up for yet another Twitter competitor, thanks to having some connections with invites to the new Pownce service. 🙂

Mostly, I just want to see what the difference is, compare the services, the features, and see which one works better for what I like to use it for.

While I love the ability it has to direct messages to a group, send small files and links, the fact that there is no mobile interface hurts. I use Twitter’s mobile interface with my Blackberry quite often to jot down a thought about something. Pownce not having one is a pretty severe limitation. Hopefully, as it develops further, there will be one.

If you’re interested in checking out Pownce, let me know I have a handful of invites.

    How Not to Use Twitter

Today, I’ve learned how to use Tweetdeck’s filter feature. That’s the little option at the bottom of each column that lets you filter out certain tweets based on any word. I was filtering out everything with MVDAY, a hash tag being used to enter a local contest. The contest gives you a chance to “Tweet”…

    Darned if you do…

I couldn’t help but nod my head reading Brett Trout’s post about corporate packrats today. Does your company still have “floppy” disks in storage?  Is your company storing invoices from the 80?s? If so, it is time for a little spring cleaning. The cost of cleaning your electronic house is actually quite small compared with…
