Linked – Instagram adds the ability to share your Stories to a smaller group of friends

This is the next natural progression for social networks, closing the circle on who we share things with.

“The new feature adds a level of flexibility to how you share personal moments with friends of your own choosing. Instagram says it is available worldwide from today for both the Android and iOS versions of the app.”

Twitter and Facebook started out assuming that everyone wanted to simply share things with as wide a circle as possible, and as a blogger, that’s true about my blog posts. As a human being, however, there are lots of things I want to share, but with smaller groups. That’s why I made use of friend lists on Facebook, and never really got too personal on Twitter. It only makes sense that as stories become more and more popular, these options make it over there as well. It’s the way human beings interact.
