Worth Reading – Companies that roll back DEI don’t perform better financially, study says

I feel like we knew this, and that the entire thing was just performative, not based on any kind of data:

“Large corporations appear to have folded under pressure for no financial gain,” a public policy scholar wrote.

Some people have been screaming from the rafters for years that diversity programs meant hiring unqualified people and caused huge financial harm to companies; shareholders threatened to sue, and it was all noise. No data ever showed that; in fact, most of it showed the opposite.

So now they’ve done all the work to dismantle them, and there was no financial gain. Just another generation of diverse, qualified individuals getting left out.

It’s never been about what’s better. It’s always been about othering people to get power.
