Back to work today, after a nice three day weekend in New York

Back to work today, after a nice three day weekend in New York. The city seems to still be recovering, and I guess I can’t blame it. As I suspected, looking south along the skyline and not seeing the WTC made it seem like a different city than the one I grew up looking at from over in Brooklyn. I didn’t go down to the site, but I did get to see some of it from a distance on the Circle Line, that was enough to know how horrible it must be. In fact, walking past Engine Co. 54/Ladder 4 , which lost 18 men that day was enough emotion for me, going to the site wouldn’t have been any more real than the pictures of those brave firefighters who were lost. It’s something I will never, ever forget seeing.

    Just out Shooting!

With last weekend being a three day weekend, and both of us just needing a break away from everything, we took off for Lexington, KY. Taking photos was part of the plan, but not the main focus. It was much more important to spend time with my wife, “running away” together for a couple of…

  • Rollover

For those of you have never had the distinct pleasure of trying to rollover money from a previous employer’s pension fund, into your new employer’s 401(k), be forewarned that it’s nowhere near as simple as you might think it’d be. There are forms that are required to be filled out by your previous employer just…

  • Table For One

If you ever want a really good look at how seriously someone in the restaurant industry takes customer service, try going out to eat alone. Since I travel quite a bit, and much of that time I am onsite doing training by myself, I have ample opportunities to eat out by myself. I’m not one…
