A sad day…

Maybe not for you, but it is for me. One of my favorite bands of all time is calling it quits. Midnight Oil lead singer Peter Garrett has decided to call it a career and “take up challenges outside of music”.

Ironically enough for a band that struggled to get the recognition they deserve outside of Australia, I found this through Daypop, so I guess lots of people are blogging about it.

In retrospect I’m especially glad I went this spring to see them play down in Cincinnati. I thought it might possibly be the last opportunity I would get to see them because they don’t tour the US very often, but I was hoping not. I guess there’s nothing to do but grab all my MO cd’s and have myself a listen for old time’s sakes! Thanks for the memories guys!
