Would you Pay for Tweetdeck or Advanced Twitter Features?
According to this report, it seems that Twitter is flirting with the idea of charging for something, even if they aren’t sure what yet.
The question is, what feature would you be willing to pay for? Personally, I don’t think there are any Twitter-native features that I would see enough benefit to pay for. I just don’t see where it would matter much to the way I use the service. But, I might consider paying for Tweetdeck. For anyone managing multiple accounts or trying to following certain topics, or take part in a Twitter chat, there is nothing better. I would pay Twitter something for the continued use of it. But, there’s a caveat.
If they really want to charge for Tweetdeck, it needs to be treated like a commercial product. Since they brought it in years ago, Twitter has basically just left it sitting on the shelf. There hasn’t been a lot of development, there’s no longer an iOS app, and some native Twitter features, like deleting a tweet, aren’t integrated with Tweetdeck. So, if you’re looking to make some money by charging for Tweetdeck, I get it, but I’m gonna need a little more effort from you Twitter.
On the other hand, because it’s been sitting on a shelf all these years, it also still shows every timeline in chronological order. Mess with that, and I might just start using Twitter less and less.
Is there anything that Twitter could offer you that you would pay for?
