Worth Reading – AI can change political opinions by flooding voters with real and fabricated facts

So what you’re telling me is that AI chatbots can spout so much bullshit, so fast, and so confidently that they are incredibly effective at changing people’s political beliefs?

Maybe this is why someone doesn’t want individual states to start passing laws to prevent this kind of thing from being built into the tools? Do they plan to take advantage of this ability?

We already know that disinformation works primarily by bombarding us with so much that eventually it takes hold, even when we know it’s not true.

AI needs guardrails, and the US seems utterly incapable of implementing any. It’s hard to imagine that this isn’t on purpose.
