Linked – 15 Social Media Stats to Share with Business Leaders

    ByMike McBride February 2, 2017January 30, 2017 Reading Time: 1 minute

The article itself is fairly common information on why social media is the way to reach people for marketing, recruiting, etc. but this stat shocked me: • Only 13% of Millenials (13-34 yo) use LinkedIn. I’d like you to explore other platforms and opportunities to engage and communicate with your younger and now majority workforce….

Linked – Telemarketing Firm Leaks 400,000 Recorded Calls

    ByMike McBride February 1, 2017February 1, 2017 Reading Time: 1 minute

Seriously? Are there any grown ups who work for this place? More than 400,000 audio files associated with a Florida company’s telemarketing efforts were stored online in the clear, and were discovered earlier this month by researchers at MacKeeper. More than 17,600 of those audio recordings were customer transactions that included names, addresses, and credit card and…

Linked – American Airlines Is Eliminating Seat-Back Entertainment

    ByMike McBride February 1, 2017February 1, 2017 Reading Time: 1 minute

This may seem like an airline cutting yet another benefit, but as a frequent American flyer, I’m OK with this. ByMike McBride January 31, 2017January 29, 2017 Reading Time: 2 minutes

This is probably something everyone should at least be thinking about when they go to sell or return old devices. I will add one thing, however. Earlier versions of some smartphones have been shown to leave behind some data even after being reset to factory settings. It would require a lot of work, and expertise,…

If Everyone’s Getting Hacked, Maybe They Shouldn’t Keep All That Data

    ByMike McBride January 30, 2017January 24, 2017 Reading Time: 3 minutes

According to a recent Irish study 61% of organizations suffered a data breach last year. I highly doubt that high of a number is unique to Ireland. I would not be surprised if it was higher in some other places. The truth is the chances that you have had your personal information lost due to…

Linked – Communicate to Build Relationships

    ByMike McBride January 29, 2017January 26, 2017 Reading Time: 2 minutes

Having been in an office, and remote, throughout my career, I don’t think location and proximity have anything to do with it. I’ve worked in the same building with people for years who didn’t even know who I was, and I’ve had great relationships with people I rarely ever see, and I’ve had the opposite, people I’ve worked with very closely in the same location who I have a good relationship with and people I’ve worked remotely with who didn’t get along. All of it comes down to communication.
